Crestron
One recall owns the hour. The preset-recall path is being confirmed in a real room.
A Crestron system already runs the lights, the screens and the sources, and the people in the room touch that panel and nothing else. The design is straightforward: one recall from the panel hands the hour to the camerawork you prepared, so nobody in the room learns a second system and no new panel appears on the wall. That recall path is being confirmed in a working room before we describe it as more than a design.
How it connects
The control system recalls a camera preset on your network, and the software treats that recall as the cue for prepared camerawork. Nothing new is wired to the touch panel.
What it does
- When this path is confirmed, one recall from the Crestron panel starts the camerawork your team prepared, so the room starts the way it always has.
- When this path is confirmed, the recall hands the hour to prepared camerawork, so nobody in the room learns a second system.
- When this path is confirmed, no new panel appears on the wall. The touch panel people already use stays the single thing they touch.
- When this path is confirmed, your integrator adds camerawork to the room without restructuring the control program the room already runs.
What it does not do
- It does not run today. The preset-recall path is in evaluation and is being confirmed in a working room.
- It does not replace the Crestron system or its program. The control system keeps running lights, screens and sources as it does now.
- It does not join the video path. The software drives the cameras, and the pictures reach your recording or meeting system as they do today.
Setting it up
Tell us about the room
Describe the panel, the cameras and how the room starts today. Your integrator can send this for you. We tell you where the evaluation stands and what your room can run now.
Compose the room's camerawork
Your AV team composes the shots and moves the room needs and rehearses them in the empty room. Until the recall path closes, the camerawork starts from the computer running the software.
Add the recall when the path closes
When the path is confirmed, the control system's existing camera preset recall becomes the cue for the prepared camerawork. The touch panel on the wall does not change.
Questions
Can our Crestron panel start the camerawork today?
Not yet. The preset-recall path does not run today. It is in evaluation and is being confirmed in a working room. Until it closes, start the prepared camerawork from the computer running the software, and your room keeps its panel as it is.
Will our control program need rewriting?
The design uses a camera preset recall, which a room program can already send. The aim is that your integrator points that recall at the software, rather than restructuring the program. We confirm the detail with your integrator when the evaluation closes.
Does anybody in the room need training?
The aim is no. People in the room keep touching the panel they already use, and one recall hands the hour to camerawork your AV team prepared in advance. Nobody learns a second system.
Does it change our recording or meeting platform?
No. Panopto, Echo360, Zoom, Teams Rooms and the other systems that take your camera pictures keep taking them as they do today. The software drives the cameras and stays out of the video path.
